Front invited Neighbours Burning Neighbours for a live session in an old warehouse, somewhere on the coast of Kijkduin. However, the calming effect of the beach and sea does little to control the intensity of this brand new Rotterdam noise band. Guitars fly like shrapnel, militant drums and gritty basslines perform a bloodcurdling dance of death and the primal screams of Alicia Bréton Ferrer (also the linchpin of The Sweet Release Of Death) penetrate flesh and bone. Hesitate is constant compressed threat.
Besides Bréton Ferrer, the line-up of Neighbours Burning Neighbours consists of drummer Aram Jorik Scheeve of shoegazers AC Berkheimer, plus Daanie van den IJssel (vocals/guitar) and Kat Kalkman (bass) of the late Cusack. No EP or album has been announced yet, but if you realize how menacing and sharp the band already sounds, we bet that the fire will spread quickly outside the Rotterdam regions.
